Monthly Archive for June, 2008

Hey Jude

On July 13 C3 will kick off a new series. We will look at the life-changing truths found in the small but power-packed book of Jude. Often we struggle with what to believe and how to know who to listen to or trust. Jude gives us piercing insight that will make us wiser in the journey.

C3 - this week will you:

  • pray for our church each day.
  • pray that God will use this series in a huge way in lives.
  • pray for (and plan to attend and bring friends) the Benefit Concert for clean drinking water for Africa. You can find out more about it here.

Hey… Check out the baptism pics BELOW.

Lovin’ Life and C3

Today we wrapped up “One Prayer” at C3. Our summer attendance continues to pleasantly surprise me - we better be ready for the fall!

Also, today we had our monthly baptism celebration at our house after the services. God continues to change lives and I’m pumped about what he’s going to do next. Here’s a glimpse of the afternoon.

I love seeing God change lives! Baptism is always special and today it was even more so. The last person I baptized was my youngest son, Ethan. I’m so grateful for the grace of God and how he’s worked in our family and church. Ethan - I’m so proud of you and I love you!

Thoughts…

Here are a few things flyin’ through my head:

  • I love my bride - she went with me to the Harley dealership today - she loves bikes!  (don’t flip out… I’m just looking… right now).
  • I love my kids - each one has such a unique perspective on life… and me.
  • I hate our animals… too many to mention.
  • Sunday is going to be great at C3 - don’t miss it.
  • I can’t imagine loving Christ, and being a part of such an amazing movement like C3, and NOT inviting someone to come to C3 this Sunday.  It really can’t wrap my mind around people who love Christ not inviting others to know him and attend church with them.
  • Sugar Boy (Angie’s purse dog) has had THE surgery - he’s it’s recovering well.
  • The Benefit Concert has such potential for impact.  C3, you really are making a difference in lives - there are people we’ll probably never meet who will be touched and changed forever because of your generosity.  Give generously Sunday, and invite others to come July 6th.

Back In The Saddle

I took a break - a much bigger one than I had planned. We spent last weekend in the mountains of NC. Angie grew up going to Black Mountain/Montreat, NC. Her grandparents live there, so it’s a special place. Her Granddad, T.W. Wilson, passed away a few years ago. We went for her cousin’s wedding and spent a couple extra days. The cabin we rented this time was by far the best place we’ve stayed in the area. If you’re going to the area, check out GreyBeard Realty for cabins. (check out Angie’s site for pics).

Now that I’m back, I’m pumped about this Sunday as we wrap up “One Prayer.” C3‘ers - seriously - make sure you’re with us this weekend and bring as many people as possible with you - invite like crazy. It’s going to be a special day.

Then, next Sunday we meet @ 5:30 pm in Avalon Park for the Africa Benefit Concert. (Remember, please bring your generous offering this Sunday, or go online now and make a contribution). It is the culture and DNA of C3 to make a difference in lives - to love God and love others. I know you’ll respond huge to this opportunity!

Then, July 13 we’re launching a new series, “Hey Jude” - more info to come.

Today, tomorrow, and until Sunday morning - INVITE!

Great Opportunity

Today, after our Creative Team meeting, I spent some time reviewing the latest demographic research on the zip codes we touch in Central Florida. I’m fascinated by the changes and shifts in our culture, and the projections for the next 5 to 10 years.

C3 - we have an unprecedented opportunity. The largest group of people who live in our area are young families. That’s one of the reasons that the Children’s Experience at C3 is primary. We invest a significant portion of our resources in children and families, and we’ll be increasing that in the future.

One thing we’re doing right now is sponsoring the Free Family Film Festival at Regal Cinemas on Tuesdays through the summer. Each Tuesday, at 10 am, families are able to come to Regal for a free movie. We also have games and free give-aways. Let me encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and invite friends each week to come with you to Regal. Next week the movies are “March Of The Penguins” (G) and
Robots” (PG).

Also, C3 - thanks for your generosity and heart to connect the community with Christ and make an impact. Through building relationships and friendship, we can reach many.
